Our Ethos
Beautifully conscious design.
ASHA believes in creating striking, affordable fashion while making mindful choices for our planet during the entire development and lifecycle of our garments.
Our production processes prioritise efficiency to minimise waste, and we continually explore eco-friendly alternatives without compromising the artistry of our garments.
We limit the products we design and market. Every piece of our small drops are designed to be treasured and worn over and over again and not short trend-driven thus encouraging a slower, more intentional approach to fashion. We work tirelessly with designers and factories around the world to explore alternative materials that do not compromise on durability, style, feel, and that meet price points our customers expect.
Where polyester and elastane are required we use recycled where possible. Recycled polyester is produced from plastic waste such as plastic bottles, fishing nets and other consumer waste reducing reliance on petroleum and minimising landfill waste. While both offer similar qualities and retain durability, versatility, and performance characteristics, recycled polyester requires less energy consumption to manufacture (around 59% less) and less greenhouse gas emissions (around 32%) resulting in a lower environmental impact.
We are on a journey toward greater manufacturing practices with our chosen partners, and material providers, and we appreciate your support as we continue to innovate for a more responsible future. Our promise to you is openness and we will continue to update on progress we are making.
Responsible manufacturing.
ASHA understands that beautiful fashion should be made with integrity. Our journey begins by selecting China’s most progressive forward thinking and experienced factories where we have cultivated meaningful, long-term partnerships built on respect and transparency. We don’t just audit, we visit and collaborate, ensuring that every garment is produced ethically and responsibly.
We maintain direct relationships with our factories, conducting regular reviews and visits to verify:
- Fair Wages – Workers are paid at or above the national minimum wage, with many earning higher compensation because talent deserves reward.
- Legal & Safe Working Conditions – Rigorous age verification and contract compliance protect against exploitation. All employees are of legal working age, with contracts, proper documentation, and fair working hours.
- Humane Treatment – Spacious, safe workspaces, regulated hours, and mandatory breaks are non-negotiables. We insist on a safe, respectful environment.
Transparency is at the heart of our process. We engage in open dialogue with management and workers, and continuously visit and assess our supply chain to uphold these standards.
While no system is perfect, we are committed to doing fashion better — prioritising both exceptional design and the wellbeing of the people who bring our collections to life.
